Do you want a more in depth understanding of your favourite tipple?
With 20 years of experience in the wine trade, I can tailor a course to your needs. Held in a venue of your choice, all you need to do is select which course you wish to follow.
I can run these courses at your home, at a village hall or other suitable venue or even virtually through Zoom.
The Wine SOS series offers single classes, introducing the basics of a particular aspect of the wine world. The Wild About series provides a more in depth look at all things vinous.
For each series I will provide the glasses, wine and course materials. All you just need to bring you, your friends, or colleagues.
Wine SOS Series
Short courses designed for a minimum of 8 people and will last approximately two hours. Prices begin at £20 per person.
The Basics
- Designed to de-mystify wines in a simple and fun way
- Using a unique method to teach you about your own palate you will be taken through the basics of wine and how to choose wines you will enjoy
- Learn how to taste wine like a pro with our 4-step process
- Discover what effects how a wine tastes, discuss the key grape varieties used in wine and the main wine producing countries
Tour De France
- Delve into the key wine regions of this diverse wine producing country
- Decipher the grapes permitted in each region and the different wine styles
- Help you feel more confident to choose French wines in a shop or at a restaurant
Old vs New World
- Discover the differences between the wines of the Northern and Southern hemisphere
- Cover what factors affect how a wine will taste
- Taste 3 classic varieties from each hemisphere and compare the characteristics
Food and Wine Matching
- Learn some basic rules behind the beauty of wine and food matching while tasting up to 6 wine and food combos
- Hosts will be given a suggested list of foods to provide for the event
